Suicide Attempt Story
Our first respondent was Jade from Singapore. Jade’s life took turns and twists while she was 21. Her parents asked her to indulge in the divine bond of marriage at an earlier age due to their tribal customs. Jade also felt that she can easily adapt to their family culture and agreed on looking for a groom. It was in a month that a civil officer knocked at her heart.
It was going to be an arranged marriage, he was 32, and she was 21. Yet she did not bother about anything and fell in love with her husband to be. He kept on assuring her that she was the first one in her life. Days passed and wedding dates approached. Greed opened its mouth. Her fiancé started asking if her father can gift him a car, or a house where they both can live after getting married. She started getting uncomfortable with him, every time they sat together he would start talking about how expensive his shoes are, what shirt he is wearing instead of spending time with her.
One day when he got to know about the financial scam that stuck Jade’s father’s business he started pulling away from her. He stopped taking her calls and Jade’s father got a heart attack. It was the time she thought about suicide attempt.
Jade was broken and needed him the most. That was the time when she got to know that he was engaged to four other girls before her, demanded extravagant gifts from their families, once they stopped obeying his gift-lists, he ditched those girls. Poor fragile flowers. Jade knew that now she was also one of those girls. She was now scared of facing others, she thought she would be stigmatized by others. She felt like a curse in herself, unaware of the fact that it was him who was the curse. She kept weeping for nights and days, gained weight and her health started deteriorating like her grades in college. Again she thought ‘I don’t want to live anymore”
One day she thought of how beautiful life was before this incident, she pondered, why can’t she have that life back?
That was the time when Jade decided that this was just a nightmare. She got back to friends. They too helped her overcome the shock. Her father improved seeing her smile. She returned like a ferocious lioness and topped the exams. She was the most wanted lady in the job market. Presently, Jade is working as a CEO of a home innovative gadgets company. The moment the caterpillar thinks life is over, it becomes a butterfly.
Second Suicidal Attempt Story
Our second respondent was from the USA, Cynthia. She was born like any ordinary child, a tiny mistake made by her doctors costed her suffering for a lifetime. The time she was born, a nurse held her in a way that her brow was slightly pulled upward by her hand.
Because of Bullying, she thought I’d rather die.” Resultantly, her brow opted the pulled shape for a lifetime. It was when she was 4 that her friends started calling her a ghost with a pulled eyebrow. At 6 she was mocked for having unequal eyes and an ugly pulled brow. She started schooling and a bullying teacher started calling her Ms. Pulled. She felt devastated.
Again she thought about the Suicide attempt. As soon as she reached college, she was considered a misfit someone nobody would ever like dating. She had great orating skills, when she went to her debating society president, she was neglected as she was ‘not presentable’. For another time she felt like I want to fucking die.”
Days passed and finals approached. For her confidence crises spiked, her grades sank and she got failed. She thought of ending her life. In an accident, Cynthia’s parents passed away. This time she decided, it’s time to end this life, it’s the time thought ‘I want to die’ and nothing else. She thought of burning herself, went to the store, there she saw a man with no eyes who was being bullied by mobs. On her way back carrying a petrol bottle to burn herself, all her memories started playing like a movie before her eyes.
Do I really want to die?
She remembered of the day her father got her favorite dollhouse on her birthday. The day her mother sold her car to pay for her school. The day her brother made her smile by acting crazy. After realizing all those good things in her life, she could not pull efforts to burn herself together. She felt like burning all those good things with her. That was the time, for the first time in her life, she felt ‘I want to live.’
At present, Cynthia is running an anti-bullying organization that mainly targets to relieve depression of the victims of bullying.
If Jade, Cynthia and so many other Divas across the globe what to live, why are you scrolling on the internet ‘I want to die.’
